A 12 page newspaper version of my dissertation completed as part
of my final year studies. The paper is a discussion of why people still
self-publush real tangible works, like zines, instead of just running
a blog or a podcast.
Each chapter of the dissertation is given one spread, going through
the history of self-publishing in artist manifestos, the rise of fanzines in
the Punk era, the supposed fall of the sine when youtube, podcasting
and blogs exploded, and finally the resurgence of the zine over the past
few years.
Also included are two interviews with current self-publishers
Elodie Amandine Roy & Calin Kruse.
